North Richland Hills is now home to a new, indoor entertainment concept. The Trinh family calls themselves a VietXican family (Vietnamese and Mexican) that loves Snookball, and they recently opened SOM Snookball + Games in the Venue at Hometown off Parker Boulevard, near Firehouse Subs. Peter Trinh grew up playing soccer and pool, and found Snookball to be the perfect combination of his two favorite sports. When he moved to the States, he noticed that Americans weren’t familiar with the game, so his family decided to open SOM Snookball + Games, and selected North Richland Hills for their first location. They chose the name SOM which stands for their three children’s names: Solomon, Olivia, and Mercedes.
Invented by two French entrepreneurs, Snookball began gaining popularity in Europe and is becoming a worldwide sensation. The game is played on a giant version of the traditional pool table, but the balls are soccer balls instead of wooden billiard balls. All the rules are the same as pool, except you get to kick the balls into pockets instead of using a cue stick. The best part about Snookball is that it is fun for all ages to enjoy. SOM Snookball + Games is a place where the entire family can spend quality time together, while enjoying a variety of healthy foods, a game of snookball, or an assortment of other games including foosball, Soccer-Golf, Soccer-Bowling, traditional pool, Jenga, chess, and more. Be sure to check out their full food and drink menu, including their best-selling Cauliflower Crust Pizza and unique fall-off-the-bone Pig Wings.
Snookball tables are rented hourly for up to eight players and the venue is a perfect location for birthday parties and corporate events. For more information, visit www.somsnookball.com.
