The largest manufacturer of surgical masks in the United States, Prestige Ameritech, has expanded operations and moved to North Richland Hills. Ninety percent of surgical masks used in the United States are currently made in other countries including Mexico and China. With recent threats of a global pandemic, Prestige Ameritech has become the largest domestic manufacturer of surgical masks and has outgrown its current facility. The company will employ 400 plus workers by 2015 and will remain compliant with laws prohibiting the employment of undocumented workers. The City of North Richland Hills has provided an incentive agreement that will keep Prestige Ameritech and its 400 plus jobs in North Richland Hills for many years to come.

North Hills Hospital
North Hills Hospital is proud to announce its Chest Pain Center received full Cycle III accreditation with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Center's Accreditation Review Committee. North Hills is one of only three hospitals in the country and the first in Texas to achieve Levels I, II, and III accreditation. As as accredited Chest Pain Center, North Hills Hospital works closely with the emergency medical system (EMS) of North Richland Hills to reduce time of treatment in the critical early stages of a heart attack. The processes are designed to seamlessly coordinate across the entire hospital and to assure patients aren't sent home too soon or needlessly admitted. North Hills Hospital thanks the North Richland Hills Fire Department for its support and hard work, which helped the hospital achieve this national award.

De La Rosa Upholstery: A Business Giving Back to the Community!
Long standing business, De La Rosa Upholstery, will be celebrating their 19th year in North Richland Hills in 2009. This past fall De La Rosa relocated from their Rufe Snow location to a brand new 10,000 square foot building located on Iron Horse Boulevard. An active business in the community, De La Rosa Upholstery has given back to area schools by donating furniture and fabric to theatre and design students within Birdville School District. Along with the donated furniture and fabric, De La Rosa has also been kind enough to put on a drive to benefit the animals at the NRH Animal Shelter. The drive is currently underway through the end of May.
